For years, if you play the bass guitar, Paul has played in The Beatles, too, you had to fork over approximately $ 2,000.00 for a Hofner bass. Yes, they are much better today than when Paul bought his first for about $ 175.00 in 1961. But most people can not afford it. An alternative in the same style has always been the bass Epiphone Viola.
Since approximately one quarter of the cost of a new Hofner 500-1, you can look and sound like the original, withsome differences and contradictions. The Hofner is a hollow body bass, which means that it is an open space inside the body of the guitar. This is one of the main contributors to their original sound quality, which is more moderate, soft and low body-art, solid, with no space.
La Viola is also the design of the hollow body. Although electronic viola differs radically from a Hofner, with the two humbuckers, a series of tape-string Hofner,and modeling amp, you will soon be back in the Cavern Club in Liverpool.
I bought a few years ago my viola and I'm very happy with their vintage style and classic British Invasion sound. For those interested in his statistics:
* Top: Laminated Flame Maple
* Neck: Maple, Set
* Chrome Hardware
* 30.5 "Short Scale
* 2 micros: NYR & NYT Mini Humbucker
* Nut width: 1.65 "
* Fingerboard: Rosewood
* Inlay: Dots
* Finish: Vintagesunburst
My Bass Viola was manufactured in Korea and is flawless in design, assembly and finishing. In 2003, Epiphone was a factory in China to monitor global demand.
Hofner has recently published two new lines of her Hofner Beatle Bass. The Bass Hofner Icon is a good approximation of the original when compared to a lot more on the bass viol. It sells for about $ 400,00.
Contemporary Hofner bass is near (but not exactly) Replythe main line of low-Beatle. It's a great bass, and sells for about $ 800.00.
This is perhaps a bit too high for those who look and sound, but can not afford a Hofner want. I really can recommend the Epiphone Viola Bass playing like a good sounding and easy replacement for the original!

Epiphone Viola Bass The bass is well made …. completed and with decent action ….. But while this instrument resembles the legendary 500 / 1 Beatle Bass Hofner obviously it does not look remotely Hofner sound … .. The Epiphone produces a pretty decent bass sound generic, but has Punchi the Hofner bass and clean sound on the planet, with a special stamp ….. In fact, I have Hofner property were freely discussed and hot in the studio, and its sound was like a slap inwell ….
But all this is said, I would recommend this to the Epiphone Hofner new low low price …. and all Epiphone many are cheap these days, and finally built, this instrument is very servicable and good value for money … .. but if you ever afford to buy the dough, the real deal, do yourself a favor and do not use to buy a new (one a year group, neck chain and they are not easy to repair) High-end – Hofner. .. There is no such thing ….
